2.러시아 인의 눈으로 바라본 평양-A Forbidden City     참다움 체스터필드와 함께 http://blog.daum.net/komeriman   요즈음 월드컵 기간 중인데도 불쑥 북한의 미사일 발사 계획이 알려져서 한반도가 다시 긴장에 휩싸여 있다....    아래의 사진들은 회사의 동료가 전해준 이메일에 첨부된 웹사이트에 올려진 어느 러시아 관광객의 북한 방문기를 기록한 사진과 글 들이다... 우리들은 가 볼래야 쉽게 가 볼 수도 없는 곳 평양 A forbidden City (금지된 도시)... 러시아 인의 눈으로 본 북한과 평양 시가지의 현재의 모습들이다.   동료는 저런 나라가 아직도 이 지구상에 존재하냐고 했다...나는 별로 대꾸해 줄말이 없어서...그래도 아프리카의 빈국들 보다는 좀 낫지 않겠냐고 대꾸해 주었다. 비록 전쟁으로 갈라진 땅이지만 그래도 우리나라의 반쪽 북녁에는 아직도 우리들의 친부모 형제 자매들이 많이 살고 있는 곳인데.....이런 북한의 현재 모습들...이것을 과연 어찌 표현 해야 하나 저으기 망서려진다.   물질적으로 가진것은 남쪽이 좀 더 많을지 모르지만 어찌보면 참 착하고 순박하게 살고 있는 북녘의 동포들을 대하니 가슴 한쪽이 아려오는 건 왜일까?   아무튼 내가 어릴적 학교에서 배웠던 북한의 무서운 이리떼들은 보이질 않는 걸 보니 이미 멸종 되었거나 아님 다른 데로 다 이사 가 버린 모양이당~ㅋ   아래에 영문을 내 나름대로 번역해 보았는데 뜻이 제대로 전달될지는 의문이다...*^^*     The autor is Artemii Lebedev, one of the leading web-designers in Russia. He recently went on a trip to DPRK. I'll translate his comments briefly.   저자는 아테미 레베토프-러시아의 유명 웹디자이너인 그는 최근 북한을 방문하였다. 그의 코멘트를 간단히 정리해서 번역 해 본다.   On your arrival at the airport you need to leave your cellphone, no roaming service is avaliable but if you select an operator manually you get PRK 03 although he never saw a single person with a cell-phone. Laptops are allowed it seems that north koreans are not aware of cards that can make your laptop to work like a cellphone.   공항에 도착한 그는 셀폰을 맡겨놓아야 했다 국제 로밍 서비스는 가능했지만 Operator를 수동으로 고르자 PRK03 이라는 넷트웍이 잡혔다 근데도 그는 셀룰라 폰을 가진 사람을 한사람도 보지 못 하였다. 랩탑은 가지고 들어갈수 있었는데 아마도 북한 사람들은 카드 (a PCMCIA card?)를 기면 랩탑도 셀폰처럼 쓸 수 있다는 것을 모르는 듯 하였다.   The only house where a foreigner will be ever allowed on his visit. It's a model-house of a model-farmworker of a model-collective farm. There is even something that looks like a computer made of components that are not even plugged together. Internet does not exist, only intranet is avalaible.   이집은 그의 방문 기간동안 구경할수 있었던 단 하나의 집이다. 이것은 모델로 선정된 농장에 모델로 선정된 농부의 모델 하우스 인데 거기에는 전원도 기기도 서로 연결되지 않은 컴퓨터 비슷한 것도 놓여 있었다. 인터넷은 없고 오직 인트라넷 (사내 내부 연결망) 만 있었다.   (암튼 사진에 아가가 참 귀여워 보인다...*^^*) On your arrival you will be assigned to a guide and a driver. That will constantly follow you. You can't leave the hotel on your own. The daily program consists of 2-3 visits to a landmark. In the hotel you can watch BBC,NTV (russian chan),and a couple of chinese channels, so you can't really complain about freedom of speech. The food is good, and you can't complain about that either. In a park he saw elder women picking up herbs, the guide said that it was for the rabbits, although it was clear that it was the kind of herb that the "owners of the rabbits" could eat.   도착하면 지정된 가이드와 운전사가 주어진다. 그들은 계속 따라다니며호텔밖으로 혼자서 나갈수도 없다. 매일 관광 프로그램은 두세개의 명소를 방문하는 것이었다. 호텔에서는 BBC, NTV (러시아 채널) 과 두세개의 중국 채널을시청 할 수 있다 그러니 언론의 자유를 불평할 수도 없다. 음식은 아주 맛있다 그러니 그걸 불평할 것도 아니다. 한 공원에서 그는 약초를 캐고 있는 할머니를 보았다 안내원에게 물었더니 토끼를 줄 먹이란다 그렇지만 확실한건 그 약초는 "토끼의 주인" 도 먹을수 있는 것이라는 점이다.   Kiosk that sells foreign product to tourists, as in snickers chinese sprite and lays from 2001. You have to chose your product pay at a sepate booth get a checkstub and give it to the merchant to get your purchase.   매점에서는 관광객들에게 우습게도 중국산 스프라이트 음료와 2001년에 제조된 레이스 (감자깡) 를 판다. 고객들은 물건을 먼저 고른다음 별도로 마련된 판매대에 가서 물품 구입표를 받아서 판매원에게 건네주어야 비로서 물건을 받을수 있다. (어라? 출납이 영어로 CASH 라고 써있네?? 오잉??)   Kiosk for locals, most of the time they sell lemonade, forigers are given a plastic cup, locals get porcelain mugs, that are washed in a bucket of water after use.   이곳은 로칼 상점인데 대개의 경우 레모네이드를 판다. 외국에서 온 사람들 한테는 플래스틱 컵을 주고 주민들한테는 세라믹 용기를 주는데 사용후 양동이에 담긴 물에 씻은 것이다.   Sometimes you see people selling some kind of a vegetable, that was taken next to a fruits and veggies store, they immediatly closed the door as they saw a tourist.   어떤때는 과일이나 야채가게 옆에서 얻은 야채 종류를 파는 사람들도 보이는데 그들은 관광객을 보는 즉시 문을 닫아 버린다. North Koreans are always amazed when they see a white man. 북한 사람들은 백인을 보면 항상 신기해 한다. The plaster statues are clean and not broken apart. North Korea is a perfect reproduction of the year 1950. 석고상들은 깨끗하고 망가지지 않았다. 북한은 훌륭한 1950년대의 재생품 같아 보인다.     They still havent figured out how to make flat glass withtout bubbles, the only exception are the windows in the hotel or large vitrines. 북한에서는 커다란 용기들이나 호텔의 창문을 제외하고는 아직도 평평한 유리를 만드는 법을 깨우치지 못한것 같다.   Oil is almost inexistant, so most of the labor is manual. 기름이라고는 거의 찾아볼수 없므므로 모든 노동은 수동으로 한다. (소를 몰고 밭을가는 농부들이 보인다.)   Water seems not to be avaliable everywhere when you leave the capital. A woman is washing her clothes in the river. 수도 평양을 떠나면 물이 귀하다. 한 아낙네가 강가에서 옷을 빨고 있다. Life in a village 한 마을의 생활모습...   When building in a city they tend to block the old houses with tall bulidings , if that is not possible they put a concrete fence so you would only see the roof. As soon as you try to take a picture different from the magazine "Korea" the guide will say: "why are you taking a picture" "it's forbidden here" 그들은 높은 빌딩으로 오래된 낡은 집들을 가린다. 만약 그것이 가능하지 않다면 그들은 콘크리트 담장을 설치하여 지붕밖에는 볼 수 없도록 했다. "코리아" 잡지와는 다른 사진을 찍으려하자 안내원이 말하길 "왜 사진을 찍는거욧! 여기서 사진찍는 것은 금지되어 있소!" 하고 말했다.   Koreans are not shy when it comes to basic needs, the guide forbid to take pictures of men taking a piss on the middle of the road, but there was no problem when it happened in the capital next to to a monument (look at the guy on the steps) 북한 사람들은 기본적인 생리현상에 있어서는 좀 체면이 없어 보인다. 안내원은 길 가운데서 어떤 남자가 소피를 보는 사진을 찍지 말라고 했지만 도심에 있는 기념비 근처에서 그런일이 일어나면 문제가 없었다. (저기 계단에서 강에다 대고 소피를 보고 있는 남자를 보라) The big monument, (they cut off the electricity at 11) 커다란 주체사상 기념탑...(그들은 11시에 전기를 끈다)   The city at night is scary, there is no light on the streets and people use white lights and no curtains. 도시의 밤은 참 무섭다 거리에 불빛도 없고 사람들은 커튼도 없이 하얀 불빛을 사용한다.   during the day the elevator didn't work for 15 mins 낮에도 전기가 나가서 엘리베이터가 15분간 멈추어 섰다.   View from the monument, besides the pretty view you can also see the dead birds. 기념탑에서 내려다본 광경, 아름다운 경치 주변에 죽은 새들의 모습도 보인다 Reality of the NK, a forigner will not see this generally. 북한의 진실... 외국인들은 보통 이런 사진들을 구경하지 못한다 ' The whole Pyongyang is like this, when he asked the guide about the old houses the guide said that old people didn't want to move out in the new ones and like it that way   평양 , 시내 전부가 이렇다. 안내원에게 오래된 집들에 대해 물었더니 늙은이들이 오래된 집에서 이사 갈려고 하질 않기때문에 그냥 그대로들 산다고 한다.   About 10% of the population serves in the military, its impossible not to cross soldiers.   북한 주민중 약10%의 인구는 군 복무를 한다고 하니 지나가다가 군인들을 지나치지 않는 다는 것은 거의 불가능하다.   They do everything, taking care of the cattle, picking up wood, and ride 40 persons in a truck 그들은 가축들을 돌보거나 나무를 줍고(심고?) 40명을 태운 콩나물 트럭을 운전한다.   As a form of entertainement both Koreas will take you to a visit to the border. one mystery remains, how comme under capitalism the roads are good and under communism sh*tty.   남북한 양쪽에서는 일종의 접대 차원에서 양측의 경계 지점인 판문점을 방문하게 한다. 그런데 알수 없는건 사진에서 처럼 왜 공산주의 쪽 (북한) 의 길은 형편 없는데 자본주의 쪽 (남한) 의 길은 훌륭한 것인지 모르겠다.   Sand is where NK is.   모래가 깔린 곳이 북측이다. The road is prepared for an invasion, the big cubes can be pushed on the road to trap the enemy tanks.   적의 침략을 막기위한 길?...커다란 시멘트 돌덩이는 적군의 탱크를 막기 위하여 유사시에  길가운데로 밀어 넣도록 만든 것이다   Just in case they put those things up on every road in the radius of 50km from the border, they are often decorated.   만약을 위하여 그들은 반경 50km의 경계선 도로마다 이런 것 들을 세워 놓았는데 종종 장식해 놓은 것들도 볼수 있다.   They also have those in the mountains.   산위에도 장애물 설치가 보인다.   A NK beach, electrified barbed-wire so the NK citiziens wouln't swim away, of couse you're not allowed to take that picture.   북한의 해안가는 전기줄 경계망이 설치되어 북한 사람들이 수영을 할수 없을 뿐더러 사진을 찍을수도 없도록 되어 있다.   NK love to show off military trophees, like the american spy ship Pueblo.   북한에서는 그들이 나포한 미국의 푸에블로호 같은 군사적 전리품들을 (외국인 들에게) 구경시켜 주기를 좋아한다 Pieces of US aicraft in a museum, that are gathered up with a lot of love.   많은 사랑? 으로 모은 미국 비행기의 잔해물이 들어있는 박물관?....요게 먼뜻이징? NK defends itself not only from imperialist agressors, every neiborhood is defended. once by a coincidence, he took a picture of that buliding with AC on every window. Of couse he was told that he's not allowd to take the picture. Apperently this is not an ordinary house, maybe scientists live there.   북한 사람들은 제국주의자들의 공격 만 방어 하는게 아니고 모든 이웃을 방어한다. 한번은 그가 모든 창문에 에어컨이 붙어 있는 건물의 사진을 찍었는데, 물론 그는 사진을 찍지 말라고 제재를 받았다. 그런데 이집은 보통집 같아 보이지는 않는다 아마 북한의 과학자들이 살고 있는 집인듯...    On may 1st, the tourists got to see a concert and taekwondo students so everyone would know that the new replacement is growing up.   5월 1일에는 그들의 새로운 꿈나무들이 자라나고 있다는 것을 알려주려고 콘써트와 태권도를 하는 학생들을 관광객들에게 보여주었다.     The only ads in NK, an advertisment for a car (made in cooperation with the South) that you will only see in the capital, there are 3 different banners/models.   수도 평양에서만 볼수 있는 세가지의 다른 배너와 모델이 들어있는 자동차 (남측과 합자해서 만들었다는) 광고판은 북한에서는 유일한 광고다. (광고문구에...휘파람이 나오고 내가슴 설레이게 하네?? 평화자동차?? 쪼매 생소하넹? ㅋㅋ) A composition showing the heroism of the workers, its a rather unique piece since the military is on the 2nd plan.   노동자들의 영웅심을 기리는 벽화, 군대는 두번째 계획이라니? 이것은 차라리 좀 특별하다. Banners   with Kim Il Song , who calls up people for heroic acts. For some reason commarade Kim is young.   영웅적 활동으로 혁명을 이끌었다고 하는 김일성. 왠지 김일성의 사진이 젊어 보인다.   You can often see pictures of Kim Jon Suk (wife of Kim Il Song) Like his composition is called "Comarade Kim Jon Suk is saving Kim Il Song), but Kim Il Song is shown even more often   간혹 김정숙( 김일성의 부인) 의 사진도 볼수 있지만 (김정숙동지가 김일성을 구했다) 고하는...그런데 김일성은 더욱 자주 보인다. Bronze is often used in the monument, here you can see the worker, the farmworker and the intellectual.   기념탑에는 동 (Bronze) 이 종종 사용된다 ...여기에도 노동자와 농민과 지식인을 볼수 있다. One of the 2 compositions next to Kim Il Song monument.   읔~~~김일성 기념탑 주위에 있는 기념물 두개중의 하나......에 거미줄이 쳐져 있넹?? ㅋㅋㅋ In every place you will have a Pole with a citation of the great leader.   가는 곳마다 훌륭한 리더를 기리는 구호를 새긴 기념탑이 서있다. LOL   우껴~~토깽이가 반바지에 반팔 티셔츠 입구 초승달에 앉아서 망원경을 들여다 보다닛!   요건 또 머냐 후훗~~~ Fancy garbage cans in parks.   공원에 설치된 예쁜 쓰레기통...빗자루를 든 곰인가 저게?? 아햐간 앙증맞네 그려~ㅋ Hello ( PREVED)   여보슈우!!!~~~~ㅋㅋㅋ     NK like to customize their number ,as you can see with the 40   북한에서는 도로 속도제한 표지판을 자작으로 만든다...( 저것이 킬로인지 마일인지 모르겠는데 아마 시간당 킬로미터 표시인듯 하다....맨우측 길은 슬로우 다운인가? 40 을 보쇼!! ㅋㅋ)   Every citizen has a pin of Kim Il Song, except for little children, waiters (the pin is probably hidden by work clothes), and Kim Il Song himself You cannot buy this pin.   모든 시민들은 어린 아이들과 웨이터들 (핀이 아마 제복에 가린듯) 그리고 김일성 자신을 제외하고는 김일성의 핀을 달고 다닌다.  이 핀은 함부로 살수도 없다.   This means, shoe repairs upstairs.   이 표지판의 뜻은 구두 수선방이 윗층에 있다는 뜻인데...   (화살표로 구두 뒷굽을 붙이도록 표시하고 위루 가라는 표시...햐~ 요거 아주 누구나 알수 있도록 저리 빤짝이는 아이디어를 낸걸보니 내생각엔 남한이나 북한이나 우리민족의 기발한 아이디어는 어쩔수 없나보다.*^^*) That means that a food joint is near, by the way even in China they draw a fork.   요것은 야외에서 밥을 먹을수 있는 곳이라는 뜻인데.... 그런데 참 중국에서도 포크 하나를 그려서 쓰더만... You can see this on the doors, the X means entrance forbidden, and the thingy taht looks like a target means enter here.   창문에 그린 이런 그림들도 볼수 있는데 X 는 이리로 들어오지 마시요 라는 뜻...타겟처럼 그려진 그림은 이 문으로 들어 오라는 뜻... In a model pioneer palace, a concert is shown, at the end a picture of Kim Jong Il is shown, the forigners are in extasy.   외국인들을 흥분케한 한 모델 개척 궁전에서 열린 콘써트 마지막에는 김정일의 사진을 보여주었다.   이상끝!    하이고오 힘들어라...이거 남이 쓴걸 번역 하능거뚜 장난이 아니눼...후훗!     참다움 http://planet.daum.net/komeriman
